Boxers Fighting Wrestlers is nothing new

Floyd "Money" Mayweather's "upset" victory over "The Big Show" at "Wrestle Mania XXIV" on Sunday night at the Orlando Citrus Bowl was not the first - and will therefore not be the last of an elite boxers in wrestling. Is the 5'8 ", 145 pounds Mayweather knocking out the 7-foot, 441 pound preposterous? Of course it is. But that's beside the point. No matter how unrealistic was the Matchup than boxers and wrestlers that are more fans of the two Sport can not help but pay attention. The World Wrestling Entertainment record crowd of 74,635 who watched Money Mayweather Knock Out The Big Show, proves with brass knuckles in his hand, what I mean.

Against Mayweather, Big Show and exchanged pleasantries, many boxers from wrestling appearances, so a little more money and expand their fan base. The dignitaries fighters to do so, "The Greatest" Muhammad Ali, and nothing else than Mike Tyson.

Muhammad Ali vs. Antonio Inoki

In1976, the greatest boxer in the world fought the greatest wrestler in Japan. No one expected that Inoki connect on his back throughout the whole game on the legs would be Ali. This disappointing "show" was seen on closed circuit by millions of viewers. Personally, it was sad to see the greatest heavyweight of all time participate in such a farce, but I'm sure he collected a tidy sum.

WrestleMania XIV, 29 March 1998

Held in the Fleet Center in Boston, MA, the Main Eventfeatured special enforcer Mike Tyson outside the ring for the Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin battle. This was Mike Tyson's first PPV event since biting Evander Holyfield ear a few months earlier. The game ended with Steve Austin to win. In an unusual turn of events, took Mike Tyson's DX (Michael's crew) shirt to reveal a shirt Steve Austin. When confronted by Michaels, Tyson hit him with his right hand. As we later find out this was only the beginning in a series ofsurreal events that Tyson would be involved over the coming years. At the time, it was certainly one of the funniest.

As fate would have it, that even the biggest event in boxing / wrestling history (Mayweather-Big Show) was of injuries fell by some fans on the equipment and material suffered from the fireworks show disturbed her. I pray that all fans will have a speedy recovery, but this bizarre end should not be surprised to boxing fans. Controversy follows boxing like beesHoney, followed even if the other participants involved in a "sport."
