Hip Hop Beefs

I would like to first define what a "beef" is for those of you who read this may not be privy to the hip-hop slang. A cow is a term used in the Hip Hop culture is to describe a grudge between two individuals. In normal society, a grudge, for the most part can occur without any real ramifications, but in the hip-hop industry no beef always goes by without some real fireworks attached to it.

Beefs in hip-hop were developed with two objectives in mind. A being that two artists withlegitimate gripes with each other would be able to resolve their differences, while simultaneously promoting their respective albums. One of the first high-profile Beefs in the hip-hop industry was between a young aspiring rapper named LL Cool J and a pre-established veteran by the name of Kool Moe Dee. Most people do not remember about what the main dispute between the two was but the songs they made in an effort to discredit each other were real classics at thatTime. The generally accepted winner of beef LL Cool J and his record sales certainly benefited from it. In this case, the hip-hop beef worked to perfection and the animosity disappeared and there was no violence between the two. This would not be the case in the most publicized Beefs in hip-hop history. Tupac Shakur, who was a well-known hip-hop artist from the West Coast and the Notorious BIG who was used the most prominent rappers in the east at that timepretty good friends. Tupac Shakur was then told that the relationship with the Notorious BIG's wife, not only in the two ends their relationship, but had also led in most of the historic battle in hip-hop. For months, the two hip-hop artists went back and fourth with songs to each other, until one day, Tupac Shakur was shot outside a club in New York. Tupac Shakur believed that was the Notorious BIG involved in the shooting, or either of them knew in some capacity. The fact that theTupac shooting occurred in the east and was a rapper from the West caused a stir among the hip-hop fans. The two coasts were no longer together together on musical projects and it was really quite dangerous venture for the two artists on the other coast. The result of this east coast west coast beef was monumental. Both Tupac Shakur and Notorious BIG were killed 6 months apart. These two deaths marked the fall of the universalacknowledged as the best rapper of all time.

Although Hip-Hop Beefs have been created, to an outlet or forum for the two artists have their dissatisfaction air the cardinal rule of keeping it on record was constantly ignored and many deaths have occurred. It is sad to say, but 10 years after the death of Notorious BIG and Tupac Shakur, Beefs are just as common, if not more so then they were at the time of her death.
