The Life of Lil Romeo

Ever since he was a toddler, Lil' Romeo wore his passion for music on his sleeves. With famous rapper Master P for a father, he was constantly in the environment of music and found his calling for rap music very early in life. Under his father's tutelage, Lil' Romeo was able to develop his talents to the fullest and by the tender age of twelve, he was ripe and ready for the big stage.

His first solo album 'Lil' Romeo' was launched under his father's recording label, Guitar Music. Within a few days of release, it became one of the hottest-selling albums in record stores all over the country. The hit single 'My Baby' rose to the top of the US charts and remained there for a total of ten weeks, making Lil' Romeo the youngest ever artist to achieve that. His success continued as he topped the US R&B charts with his second album 'Game Time', which was also considered a turning point in his musical direction. Though his third and forth albums did not figure so well popularly, they clearly demonstrated his maturity as a musician.

Other than his music, Lil' Romeo is also greatly respected for his talent in acting. His acting career began with a minor role in 'Max Keeble's Big Move' and did not really take flight until he was offered the lead role for the Nickelodeon TV show 'Romeo'. Due to his convincing performance in the series, he began receiving opportunities to play the lead character in major motion pictures. Since then, he has had memorable roles in 'Decisions', 'Don't Be Scared' and most recently, 'God's Gift'.

For his tremendous contribution to the entertainment industry, Lil' Romeo has won two awards as a singer and one as an actor thus far. In his rookie year as a musician, he won two Billboard Music Awards for Best Rap Artist and Rap Single of the Year for the song 'My Baby'. Then in 2005, he was presented his first award for acting, the Kids' Choice Award for Favorite TV Actor.
