Rolling Stones Top 20 Hits

In April 1962, The Rolling Stones formed with members Brian Jones, Ian Stewart, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. The British R & B influenced rock band took its name from a song by Muddy Waters.

Former Beatles publicist Andrew Loog Oldham, signed the "Stones" a management contract in 1963 and started its promotion as "Bad Boys of Rock and Roll", compared to squeaky-clean image of the Beatles'. Oldham has also produced their first album from 1964and 1967.

The first Rolling Stones' UK tour took place in 1964, along with the Ronettes.

His first American Top 40 hit in 1964, followed by "Tell Me (You're back) 'from' AND 'all over." They finally reached the top ten with "Time Is On My Side."

Shortly after leaving the group in 1969, guitarist Brian Jones drowned in his swimming pool in Sussex, England. Jones replaces Mick Taylor as guitarist Ron Wood and Taylor replaced in 1975. Wood hadplayed previously in the Band, The Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart and Faces.

The Rolling Stones have never been without controversy. This also includes the film "Gimme Shelter", a documentary of their controversial Altamont concert in 1969, where someone was in the audience by a member of the Hells Angels murdered.

Singer Mick Jagger has tried to register itself and managed to crack the top 40 four times, with his biggest hit, a cover of Martha and the Vandellas "Dancing In The Street". He collaborated with David Bowie in this song, which was recorded live during the concert Aid benefit in 1985 and entered the Top 10 Jagger has done for the 3 rd place in 1984 as a guest singer, "State Of Shock" The Jacksons' hit.

The Rolling Stones has won a Grammy for lifetime achievement in 1986 and were included into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1989. Still strong, even the Rolling Stones continue to tour and record, 46 years after breaking the U.S. charts for the first time.
