Baby Boomer Music - Top Ten One Hit Wonders From the '60s

We loved them all. Several "One Hit Wonders" has been very successful songs in the 60s. Hey, how not to shed a tear every time you hear: "Who in the Bomp Bomp, Bomp, Bomp, Bomp, Bomp?" Maybe even two or three tears, huh?

Well, as the baby boomers king music, I have my precious top-ten One Hit Wonders. Remember this?

10 "In the Year 2525" (1969) by Zager and Evans - These two students from the University of NebraskaHit No. 1 in the summer of 1969 and remained there for six weeks. Over time, single has sold over 10 million copies. The two remain friends to this day. Denny Zager lives in Lincoln, where he builds his guitars.

9 Four young men from Detroit began his career in 1959 and not with their first two chart releases - "Do You Love Me" (1962) with contours. But they have great success in 1962, as was "You Love Me" # 2 The group played a few years but never metStar status as members came and went, like a revolving door.

8 "Rhythm of the Rain" (1963) through the Cascades - All four band members served on the USS Ticonderoga, while in the Navy. After leaving the Navy, the four form a group and started to create songs with an emphasis on vocal harmony. Two versions of anything, but then was "Rhythm of the Rain", and No. 3 in the first months of 1963, has increased. * (Be sure to look at the Cascades to do an updated version of "Rhythm of the Rain" a few years ago.Sounds better than the original.)

7 "He who has the Bomp" (1961) by Barry Mann - Barry song reached # 7 and remained in the charts for 12 weeks.

6 "All Gone to the Moon" (1965) Jonathan King - It was a songwriter and a master's degree at Cambridge in 1965 when he published his One Hit Wonder. It 'was a worldwide success that sold over 4 million copies. King is still in the music industry after writing several songs for otherAnimators for years.

There have been many others who did well in the 60s. One Hit Wonders dug in their part in the history of music and often climbed to # 1 in the Billboard list.

"Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey" Steam # 1 was just like "Telstar" by Tornados. There are several great songs that I wanted to add to this top ten, but that would have a list of the top twenty.

So, here are the Top Five hit, one wonders come from60 years.

5 The rock group that emerged in the Minneapolis-St Paul area and has published "Liar Liar" in 1965 - "Liar Liar" (1965) of the castaways. The song hit No. 12 and was finally in the movie "Good Morning Vietnam." The group is still playing with one of the original members.

4 "In-a-Godd-For-Life" (1968) Iron Butterfly - This song was actually to take at first, almost hard to believe, is recorded. The original version of 17 minutes has a large extendedDrum solo. The song has developed a cult following and has sold several million copies.

3 "As its value" (1967) Buffalo Springfield - Steven Stills and Neil Young with big stars Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young (CSNY) was, but were hit wonders as part of Buffalo Springfield.

2 "Hey baby!" (1962) Bruce Channel - although recorded in 1960, "Hey Baby" does not become a hit until 1962, when he turned all the way Bruce Channel is still # 1 in musicbusiness to this day even though he only hit it big time with one song. "Hey! Baby" has had a rebirth of sorts as a favorite among college students throughout the country.

1. I have a tie for the top spot... "Hippy Hippy Shakes" by the Swinging Blue Jeans (featured in the movie "Cocktail"), and "San Francisco" by Scott McKenzie. Listen to both songs and tell me which one should sit by itself at the top.

You can find music videos on all of the songs on this list by simply searching Google. I suggest you watch each one and let these videos take you back to our time... the 60's.
